Mail order meal kit companies send you a box of ingredients and recipe cards. You’re still spending over an hour to cut, zest, chop, cook and deal with all the clean-up this creates. Plus, if you end up not needing all of the meals you ordered, you’ll be throwing away all of that food.
There are also microwave-ready meal companies. Unfortunately, the process of cooking and reheating requires that additional sodium be added to improve texture and flavor. Plus, we all know that reheating a piece of cooked chicken or steak just isn’t the same as enjoying one right out of the oven or off of the grill.
As far as we know, we are the ONLY meal company that provides customizable, ready-to-cook meals that are also freezer-friendly. For more details on the features of our meals, click HERE.

Fixin’ To Eat is not subscription based so you just order what you want, when you want.
Most customers with the freezer space and budget to allow it, order a large amount at one time. They like stocking up their freezer so that they don’t have to think about dinner again until the new menu is published.
Others that have smaller freezers, or find it convenient to pick up an order weekly, order more frequently.
We offer free in-store pickup and also local delivery. During checkout you’ll schedule your pickup or delivery window from the calendar provided. Please review important information related to pickup and delivery HERE.

Other menu items are always available for pre-order.
The pandemic took so much from us all and sadly, it took away the self-assembly portion of Fixin’ To Eat.
For over a year we spent countless hours changing our processes in order to meet the demands of pickup and delivery. Sadly, we haven’t been able to bring back any self-assembly options at this point but we definitely miss it and hope that we can return to it at some point.
Click here for a short video on finding more details on current menu items.
If you have items from a previous month, you can do the same thing on our Archive Menu.
We offer as many customizations to our recipes as possible. All possible modifications will be listed for each menu item. We are able to accommodate ONE modification per menu item. If no modifications are shown, then none are available. Some modifications may incur an extra charge due higher food and/or labor costs.
No Added Salt means that we will not add any additional table salt during assembly. Please see the nutritional details for sodium content. Some items are naturally low sodium and others are higher in sodium due to ingredients that we cannot modify (cheese, soy sauce, etc).
Lighter Fixin’s means that we will reduce the fat and calorie content in the meal. This may include using lite ingredients such as lite mayo, lite sour cream and/or Smart Balance. It may also modify the cooking instructions provided (you may be sautéing items rather than breading and pan-frying them).
Your health and safety are important to us here at Fixin’ To Eat. When aware of an allergy, we are careful to avoid cross-contamination, but please understand that many of our ingredients may be manufactured in facilities where cross-contamination of allergens is possible.
We do our best to outline common allergens on our nutritional labels (click on “view product details” within a menu item). Sometimes we are forced to use a substitute ingredient so please ALWAYS make a note during checkout where it asks for any allergy information.
Gluten Free means that we have checked all of the ingredients and found them to be free of gluten, however they may not be certified as gluten free due to the cost and process involved for manufactures to achieve that certification.
For other allergy concerns, feel free to call for more information.

Meal Kits vary per recipe. Some must be defrosted while others cook from frozen. We provide cooking instructions for each meal based on the most traditional methods (stovetop, oven, etc). Something like meatloaf will go in the oven, while stroganoff will get cooked stovetop.
Many customers have converted to using their instant pot and air fryers for many items. The sky is the limit but we will only provide cooking methods that we have tested in order to give you proper times and temperatures.
Single Fixin’s get cooked from frozen. They all have oven-baking instructions but many customers use their air fryers and toaster ovens. A few recipes include microwave instructions but for the most part, these meals get baked in the oven.
Since all of our meals are freezer-friendly, you can store them for quite some time.
Meal Kits that are packaged in freezer bags can be kept in the freezer for months. Watch the contents and if you notice ice crystals forming on the food then you’re best to cook those sooner rather than later. Meal kits that are in oven-ready pans need to be cooked sooner since they are exposed to air. Cooking these within the first four weeks will yield the best results.
Single Fixin’s should be cooked within four weeks to maintain their texture and flavor. Meals kept longer than that do not go “bad” but if freezer burn has occurred then it may affect the flavor and texture.
Please review our policy regarding order modifications HERE.
